Default Problems: Loose passenger side heat shield and dash electronics. Please help!

Hi guys,

I have come to a crossroads with the Jeep as to whether or not to trade it in or fix it and lift it. The first things that is messed up is the passenger side heat shield. Can I just take this damn thing off of am I going to end melting something? It's the exhaust heat shield and it is rattling every time I hit the gas. I took it to the dealership and they charged me an arm and a leg to tac weld the thing back on (as if a tack weld would hold ). So now it's jacked up again and I want to just deal with the thing myself.

The second thing is the electronics in the dash. It started with just the inside cabin lights not turning on when switched on. Now I cannot dim the dash and the windshield wipers will not go down automatically nor do they correspond to the different speeds anymore.

I feel like I am driving a complete POS right now. That's not a good feeling when driving a 30k$ vehicle. I also have 52k miles on the original set of 32" MTs but that is a whole different story. Tires are super out of balance and the things has death wobble without having a lift to cause it . That is easily fixable with new tires though.

Has anyone experienced these issues? Please give me some information as to how I should go about fixing them. All of these things have really become out of control.

Thank you,

~Casey
