Problem with that is the dealer can just grab any old throwout bearing and show you....doesn't mean it came from your jeep.

cmon ! i know there are some crappy dealers but that would be two counts of fraud. defrauding the customer and defrauding chrysler . not somethin they would do i think . now independant garages ........

If you want proof they removed the trans put a dab of paint on all the mounting bolts to see if they've been removed.

MAKE SURE they removed your drivelines when they dropped the transmission to replace the throwout bearing and clutch plate.

If the flange around the rubber boot near the rear axle is freshly bent out of round they let your driveline "hang" and it just sliced a hole your driveline boot.
Expect to see grease everywhere within the next week and your driveline to fail within a month. Non-repariable BTW, you'll need a new driveline for around $600.

It's just the mechanic bieng lazy and happens way too often.
If you notice the driveline boot ring is damaged have them write on your repair order "boot damaged by mechanic" so you don't get stuck with a new driveline bill next month.
It's like flopping your hood up againt the windshield and denting it during an routine tune up. Most people don't notice until later so Dealer simply denys it.

If they replaced a throwout bearing in an hour then this is probably why your getting a new one a few thousand miles later....just sayin.

I don't care if your Chryslers top mechanic......it can't be done.

I finally had the chance to take my Jeep into the dealership today. I was promised I would have my Jeep back tomorrow. Just received a phone call from the service department, they stated they had to call Chrysler because this is the second time the throw out bearing had to be replaced. Chrysler informed them they have to take apart the transmission to see if there is a problem causing the throw out bearing to make all that noise. Now my Jeep will be in the shop till Tue or Wed. I hate that my Jeep has less than 6000 miles and the trans is already being torn apart.

but on the bright side at least they are digging into it to find out the cause. You might end up with a new tranny.

So the dealership replaced the throw out bearing, output shaft and seals. Picked the Jeep back up and it still makes the same noise. Brought it back to the dealership and once again they told me it was normal. I had them pull up a new Jeep to see if I could hear the same noise. I could not hear it and of course the dealership could. So after having the transmission torn apart three times I had enough.

I ended up trading the Jeep in for a 2013 JKU Rubicon. Same payment and still have 8 grand in equity on the new Jeep. Pics attached of old and new Jeep. New one is Commando Green.

Congrats on the new jeep, sucks you had to go through all of that and never get it fixed though. Hope this unit fares better for you.

Years ago, I had a Plymouth Voyager. The van kept stalling out on me. I took it into a local dealership to get it looked at. They had it for the day, and said that they could not find anything wrong with it. I asked them what they did to look for the problem, and the service manager said that the tech left the van running in the parking lot for 6 hours to see if it would stall out. I called him, as the gas tank was at the same level as when I brought it in, and there was no diffierence in the milage.
They charged me $80 for a diagnostic fee, and a lie.
Long story short, you cannot trust some shops to do what they say they will do.
