Default puddle on floor

I'm actually not sure where its coming in from, but on severe rainy days like we're having today in NY, a nice half inch puddle forms on the drivers side floor. I'm pretty sure its not coming from the roof down the A post but maybe from up behind the dash. The rain began after I had parked it so all that rain came in as it sat still in the parking lot. Is this one of those nifty features of a Jeep or what? I'm having service check it out on Friday but any suggestions would be great before they tell me my JohnsonŽ Seal needs replacing.

it's a jeep thing. Well it was with my TJs, CJ doesn't do it. My JK hasn't done it yet either, although I have heard of it happening from others.

soft top or hard top?

Don't fall for that BS line " its a Jeep thing".
Its a new vehicle under warranty right ? Demand that they fix it. You paid good money for it right?
They need to fix the POS they created.

If its a "Jeep thing", then Jeeps are POS, and I own one.

Let me clarify... My Tjs did it when brand new. It took several trips with both to get it fixed. After that, it never did it again on either. I would def. have the dealer look at it.

IMO small leaks are to be expected with open top vehicles. Some (like my buddy's H1 have a label on the hard top that reads.... this top is not meant to keep out the elements or something like that. and it has leather seats.)

It's amazing what newbs the 4 door and the JK brought to the Jeep world. I feel for the service departments . It's a thirty thousand dollar vehicle. Don't expect the build quality of a BMW, etc.

Default Jeep Puddle

My 2000 TJ had this problem too, happened on both driver and passanger sides. I brought it in a couple times for service and they were never able to fix it or even figure out why it was happening. It usually only happened during heavy rain and with either the heat or defrost on. I just got some good mud mats, kept things off the floor and dealt with it.

Have not had the problem with the new JK, knock on wood.

Default puddle pop

Yea, I'm bringing it to the dealer this Friday but I'll bet they'll have no idea where its coming from or how to fix it. Its a hard top and the puddle is prolly a half inch deep at its deepest and the its is about 9X10" When I pull up the carpet and pull the plugs it drains OK but the carpet is wet for days unless I pull em all out and air dry them which is a pain.

you could always pressure spray around the top and doors to see if you can find the source of the leak.

BrinksJeep, would you please sell your JK and get the hell off of this forum? Honestly, all you ever do is complain about how bad your JK is and all the problems you have with it! Just take a look at his posting history, all he does is bitch and moan! So please, take your JK, trade it in at one of your beloved Toyota dealers, get an FJ that you covet so much, and let someone else enjoy that JK!!! If I didn't know any better, I'd say you are a Toyota plant! While I do believe this problem needs to be fixed, you automatically jump in with "Jeeps are POS, and I own one". Do us all a favor and TRADE IT IN, then go back to your FJ forum!
