I posted something a couple weeks back about the same thing, though I thought it was transmission related since I was in reverse when my gas pedal became ineffective. I went through a large puddle, put the Jeep in reverse and nothing happened when I applied the gas. 2012 as well...

Anyone talking to Jeep about this?

I drive an 11 sport and hit a pothole puddle so hard and fast one day that the shock knocked it out of gear the resulting splash was so big that the rear window got wet. Never had a problem. So then I did it again going the opposite direction.

Anyone else with a 2012 have this issue? Anyone talk to a dealership about it yet?

N8, did you stall as well as lose power?
X2 on any other similar experiences? I'm thinking this warrants a call to the dealer. Maybe a visit but I'd have to clean it up a bit

I read in a land rover forum that they sometimes will mount the ECM in a pelican case to waterproof it and mount it back in the engine. Just a thought if anyone is more mechanical than I.

No, never stalled, just lost any response from the accelerator.

Just put my 2011 through a similar puddle and it stalled. The culprit was a fried fuel pump due to contaminated fuel. Supposedly the water from that puddle found its way into the tank via the Evap Can. I also have a RR Snorkel and zero water made its way into the engine and all of the electrics were dry. Gonna buy an evap relocation kit and skid it up for future road travels.

I had the same issue...kinda. My 2011 took a dive and two engines and a long story later I'm back up and running for a year now with a home made snorkel.

With the way I also Blast through puddles I should be more aware of this problem. I have not encountered anything like this yet on my '12 but will keep the look out for any filter problems from here on out.
