Default Pulling rear axleshafts - lock out the parking brake?

Hey guys,

I need to pull my rear axleshafts. The service manual says to lock out the parking brake by removing the center console and unhooking the rear parking brake cable. Is this a necessary step?

Thanks

Micah

Lol... I'm glad I didn't read the service manual when I do it, or it would take too much time... I disconnect at the rear and remove tension

Since I just pulled my center console out a few weeks ago, I'll go on record as saying that would suck to have to do add that step in. I'd imagine there's some other reason they had to put that in for their shop procedure.

I didn't lock out the parking brake and was able to remove/replace the axles.
