Default Pulling Right

I was out today when my 2008 JKU with about 60k miles on it started pulling hard right and the ESP/BAS light came on. I wasn't too far from the house when it started so I drove home. When I pulled in the garage it smelled like something was hot, and after checking it out my front right wheel was hot as hell. I guess that brake was locked up. Has anyone had this or know anything about what may be going on. Any insight will be appreciated.

Your brake caliper grabed the brake and wouldnt let go. In other words it collasped. This in becoming a common JK problem. You need to replace the caliper, possibly the rotor from the pads glazing it over.

Would this also be the cause of the ESP/BAS light coming on?

I would guess yes. The vehicle isnt acting "normal" so that is probly triggering the ESP. ESP being stability/traction control, it tends be a bit touchy. Once your replace the caliper unplug the negative battery terminal, it should reset the computer. At least thats the way most vehicles are.

Let me know how it all works out. A friend of mine had his caliper collapse on the highway, that and my blazer had a similar issue. Been there, done with that!

Will do. I had a pickup that the brake line collapsed, pretty easy fix. I just wonder about the ESP/BAS, it's not just the skid mark light thats on it's also the ESP/BAS warning light. I drove it a couple of miles to get to work tonight and the light was still on but the brakes felt fine

My right brake started sticking again yesterday so I went ahead and replaced the caliper. Seems to have fixed the problem but I guess time will tell. Thanks for the help
