Default Purge Valve/Gas Cap

Recently popped a code PO441. I ordered and installed a new purge valve assembly. After clearing the code, I then had the check engine light and GAS CAP on my gauge. I found a small crack in one of the purge valve lines and repaired this. No change. I do notice that the bottom connector of the purge valve is seemingly not that great of a connection(seems like a crappy design), although it seems to be connected properly. I removed the gas cap and blew on it and sucked on it. It does not allow air to escape but does allow air in. Is this not a good test?

Did you ever find out what this was? I have been getting this P0442 code intermittently over the past few months. I replaced the Purge Valve and it went away for about a month but now the code has reared its ugly head again. I will probably replace the gas cap, though it seems completely fine.

I never heard of anyone doing a blow test on the gas cap, basically it seals or it doesn't. Now the purge valve, a blow test seems like a good idea.

I recently went through this. Replacing the evap leak detection pump and its seal seems to have been the fix for me. It's been about 4 weeks since I replaced these parts and so far my CEL hasn't come back, where previously it was turning on every 2 days after resetting it.

Under the rear seat on the driver's side. There's a 1/2"-ish diameter hose that goes into it. Pull the hose, rotate the piece, then replace.
