Putting list together and need help...First issue is getting things to work together.
Just got my first Jeep, a Flame Red 2010 Rubi. I am in the market for mods but I am having problems finding a good rack system that doesn't require drilling holes into the body. Also the rack has to be able to accept Yakima kayak accessories, since I have kayak parts left from my last vehicle. Would rather put money into suspension not reinventing the wheel with rack parts.
The real issue is the front since I have a Yakima hitch mount for the rear off of my truck. I was looking at the Gobi system but thought I read somewhere it doesn't work with AEV bumper (AEV is what I am looking at for bumper, Shrock is number 2 choice). Any help would be greatly welcome. Thanks

I know that Thule makes long tracks that you can attach to the hardtop with rivets or screws. The tracks accept their risers, crossbars, and accessories. Yakima probably has something similar. If you have a rear hitch mount bar for the yaks, I would think you could fab up a front cross bar easily with some light brackets and square tube. The brackets attach to the existing window frame bolts.
kargo master rack doesn't drill holes, i have it. i think it can use yakima stuff too.
i have it shown here with the cross bars from kargo master for my kayaks

to be honest its not the best quality. it rust a bit even though i put the supplied sealant on every hole, joint, and seam. it's a pain to take off and put back on, and if you don't buy the wind deflector you will be paying A LOT MORE in gas.
i bought it cuz it was the cheaper option that required no body or frame drilling. it uses brackets than mount into existing holes. and its pretty easy to install even if your a guy like me who doesn't have much mechanics training but can follow directions.
here's a link to get an idea

and this is the link to the yakima adapters

hope this helps

Here is my install of a rack. Since you are planning to replace the rear bumper, this is the best bang for your buck (~$400). It Allows full soft top hard top usage. 350lb rating. adaptable to Thule etc with the cross tubes I'm sure.
Just make sure the rear bumper you choose does not wrap around the rear corners and your golden. Total bolt on app and you get light tabs front and rear too if you like.
