Nope, DO NOT use any antifreeze that is "universal-type." Mixing Prestone "universal" with factory Mopar or Zerex G-05 HOAT coolant may not hurt anything (I'm not sure), but the HOAT coolant is a better coolant. Mopar is available at Jeep dealers, and Zerex G-05 is available at many auto parts stores.

Only MOPAR brand or Zerex G-05 coolant for a Jeep, built after about 2000 or 2001.

Maybe it is now time to drain and flush your system, since you added Prestone. If you only added a little, it probably won't matter.

Flush procedures for a TJ here. JK will be similar.

You can actually go up to 70% antifreeze & 30% water, for maximum freeze protection, but not more.

If you go over 70% antifreeze, your freeze protection actually gets worse! 100% antifreeze has poor freeze protection.

The proper antifreeze for your Jeep is ONLY Mopar brand, or Zerex G-05 antifreeze, which is a HOAT type coolant.

Proper coolant/water ratios are on the back of the jug. DO NOT use any "universal type" antifreeze.

Use caution when purchasing antifreeze. Some jugs are pre-mixed with 50/50 antifreeze and water. DO NOT add water to those. Other jugs are 100% antifreeze - then mix accordingly.

if you added a quart (liter) or less you have no worries.

next year or so when you change all the coolant, just be sure to use the HOAT from mopar or zerex G-05

its supposed to last 5 years; I'll be changing mine after 4.
