Question on using 4wd on automatic
mines an auto... shift to 4 hi on the fly... pick your gear 1, 2, d, n, r ... anytime
for shifting into 4 lo... i bring the jeep almost to a stop, shift to N, and while slighty rolling (1-2 mph) shift into 4 low and then into 1 or 2.

Island if you are asking if you MUST or NEED to manually shift the auto once in 4wd the answer is NO, you can if you want, I usually shut off the overdrive though and if going up a steep hill I may put it in 1 or 2 and going down a steep hill I'll put it in 1
