Default Quick 2012 Oil Change Question???

I'm in the middle of giving my JK it's first DIY Oil Change, I have added 5 quarts of oil and the dip stick is showing full. I have changed the filter as well, do I need to add the 6th quart of oil? I know the manual says 6 quarts with a filter change, but I wanted to be sure and check against the experience base here. Fast responses will be very much appreciated!!!! Thanks...

As a side comment... OMG! Jeep got it right for the DIY Oil Changers! I think the dirtiest part of this whole job was sliding under the Jeep to drain the oil, and that's just because my garage floor is dirty! This was the simplest oil change I have ever done, and I normally do all my own oil and filter changes. Again, thanks for the advice on the amount of oil needed!

Let it run for a minute or so and check it again. You will probably be a little lower on the stick because the filter is full now.

Default Thank you!!!

Thank you for the quick response! After running the engine for a couple minutes to warm the engine, a check of the dip stick showed no oil on the end of it. I got double confirmation when I emptied the oil from my drain pan into the empty quart bottles, after filli g 5 I still had oil in the drain pan! Thanks again for the help!
