Default Quick tire question.

I know you all came in here expecting another "how big of tires can I fit on my stock Jk", or "how much backspace do I need if I go to 35 inch tires". Well I am sorry to disappoint you all, this is a different question. I decided it was time to slap some heavier meat on my little beast so I got me some 255/75R17 Kenda Klever MTs. I noticed that the ride is a bit rougher than the sr-a stock tires but it's not too bad. I did notice though that under 10 miles per hour my JK has quiet a bit of a shimmy. I'm assuming this is normal and I'm just feeling the lugs contacting the road at low speeds but I figured I would ask and see what you all think.

Can you explain the "shimmy" a little more. Does your Jeep feel shaky at low speeds or is it veering left and right?

At that speed I would imagine it just the lugs of the mud terrains. Try playing with the tire pressure and drop it to the 26-32 psi range to find a more comfortable ride. You can also do a search for "Chalk test" to optimize your tread contact patch.
