Red face Radiator smell

Finding the smell coming from the engine bay took a little time. I first thought it was from the overflow bottle, but I finally took about 2 hours looking and found the leakage.

1. take off the plastic shroud above the radiator (4 plastic push pins)
2. look down the right or left (mine was on the right) side were the side connects to the fins
3. finally saw the little red spots of a leak

Hope this helps someone else

Yup, had same issue antifreeze "aroma", overflow bottle level dropping. New radiator, under warranty.
Made in China? I see a lot of old respected Mfgs with " made in China to our exacting standards " Big disappointment.

Thanks for posting this.

I'm definitely going to inspect this area on mine. I've been trouble shooting a heater problem and lately have been suspecting a leak from somewhere around the overflow container/driver side radiator like you posted, but it's very difficult to see in that area to be certain. I have been burbing and filling my system and then my heater works great, then the heat continually gets cooler and cooler the more I drive and I've been smelling radiator fluid burning but wasn't sure if that was due to spillage from burbing the system or from a tiny leak. I saw a small drip 2 days ago from that same area but nothing for the past 2 days.

I've got a trouble shooting thread going on in the thread below, and this seems to align with my current problem/symptoms.
