Default rattle

I have a rattle that sounds like its coming from the driver side front end. It gets louder with hgher speeds and appears to be linked with RPM (IE. The faster i drive the higher the frequency of the sound and the louder it gets). There does not appear to be any change in performance or handling. The best description I can give is the sounds you get when a large stone is stuck in the treads of one tire. (i checked for that also) Anyone have any thoughts before I bring er in?

Thanks

If you are stationary and rev the motor do you hear it?Or only when the vehicle is in motion?
If it's only while moving, does it stop or continue if you press the clutch?
(Your profile doesn't state whether it's a manual or automatic - you may have to shift to neutral and coast to a stop somewhere)

I had the same problem with mine. Got up in under it one day to take a look, and all the bushing were wore out in the sway bar and the sway bar linkages. At that point I had never had it off road or flexed out. Took it back to the dealer, they replaced everthing and the noise was gone.

He said his is linked to RPM, can't even see how that's remotely related. Try what Horwitzs suggests to isolate the sound, but just offhand i'm guessing exhaust leak at manifold

First thing i would check is the axle u-joint on that side. Especialy if there is any vibrations as well. While your under there check the front driveshaft too. It wont have power going to it in 2wd but is still turns

Its a manual tranny. No vibrations at all. While stationary and reving the engine there is no sound. I dont think its got anything to do with the suspension componants or steering. It may be the drive axle thats a good suggestion. I like the suggestion of the manifold or exhaust leak but wouldnt you hear it even when not in gear? I'm taking her to the dealership tomorrow. Ill let you all know what we find. Thanks for everyones reply.
