2008 jk , have a metal rattle noise over bumps from my rear swing out door, but everything back there is tight ? wtf ? any helpers

Check your jack and tire iron. May have wiggled themselves loose and based on their placement, may sound like it's really the tailgate.

I fixed the rattle buy putting elec tape on the striker

Thought my tailgate was rattling also, but discovered it was the rear seat latches where they connect to the floor, after folding them flat or putting some weight on them and road testing.
Greased them up which helped for a short while
Wonder if I could clean the grease off and use elec tape... anyone tried this ?
