however I just don't get your reasoning with going back for another jeep its like saying I think they make junk but I love junk so ill put my hard erned money into another junk that cost more than the last junk I bought ! you should learn from the mistake the 13s have issues as well what then ???
mine dosent sound as bad as the video and yeh I guess im not gona knit pick it as long as it starts up daily and gets me where im going ! I traded my 11 for the 12 im not gona do this again for a 13 when I know dam well the 13 is no better! as far as shifter / and automatic I prefer shifter that's just me id rather have a noisey manual than a quiet auto but that's me . and if I were to fight over the problems with chrysler , id be getting my cash back not another jeep to do the same crap again
you should have filed the lemon law started arbitration and demanded full refund I did that 20 years ago no depreciation and any add ons I got reimbursed I went to another brand. not buyinto the ol let us sell you another newer one at your expence, you may find this as a great deal but I don't call that a great deal I find it the same as if I sold you swamp land you hated it , so you bitched and now your willing to buy a bigger parcel only a different location ! seems a bit foolish
im keepin the jeep I have and if it breaks down they will fix it more than likely rather than fight over whats normal and what bugs me . lets face it I payed 30 thousand bucks I still owe too ! but why would I fight for another one when the 13 is the same I like the one I have so im gona enjoy it till it breaks
but goin through it with a fine tooth comb and having all the trips documented I would seriously have got my money and be away from jeep seeing you wernt satisfied
ill bet youl have different issue with the 13 is all so nothing gained in the end cept a years worth of high registration fees insurance for 13 the cost of upgrades

! see you at the service waiting room

this guys video is similar to the noise im tracking any idea its not throw out berring it only does it on unlevel surface and not all the time ?????
Route 46 NJ Jeep Wrangler Transmission rattles - YouTube

There are several personal reasons why I'm choosing to have Chrysler replace my Jeep rather than buy it back (they offered me a buyback) - one of the most important being I need a reliable vehicle and I'm currently in the middle of building a new home. I can't have any accounts close or open on my credit and I can't have my credit score fluctuate from trying to get new financing.

I have searched countless hours to try and find people that are upset with their 2012-2013 automatic transmissions... and I just can't find a single person. When you search for people that are bringing up issues with their manual transmission 2012-2013, they are *all*over* the net.

I'm not trading my 12 manual for a 12 manual - I'm trading my 12 manual with head problems (yes, it's ticking like nobody's business and Chrysler won't acknowledge it because no CEL is thrown) for a 13 automatic without head problems (hopefully, haven't seen any reports of a 13 with a crap head). This is my last try with Chrysler. If I would have had them purchase my Jeep back I would be without a vehicle for the next 4 months and I wouldn't be buying another Jeep - but I can't see myself driving anything else... so this is really the only way I can justify giving it one more try.

Again, to each their own. You can call what I'm getting 'a shitty deal' - but I call it getting one more shot at owning one of the coolest vehicles on the road by starting over with 0 miles on the odometer and already a year paid down on a brand new engine/drivetrain. Just hoping I don't have any major issues with this one. In all honesty - it's the people who don't stand up and fight for what's right with these manufacturers that allow them to walk all over those of us who do. If you're not reporting that you're having a problem with yours, then I'm the minority - even though you know there is something not right. I can guarantee your transmission didn't sound like that when you bought it... but your mentality is, "it's a Jeep - it makes noises" just like every single dealership I've talked to. Maybe your payment on your $30k Jeep is easier to come by than my payment on mine. I sure as hell know I'm not sleeping easy knowing what I pay while my Jeep is acting/sounding like shit.

I love manual over auto... but I can't be ok with my Jeep making such crappy noises from the stick. I would take people for rides or to lunch or what have you and nearly every single one of them would ask me, "is that your transmission?" There was simply no way I was going to swap a 12 manual for a 13 manual to likely end up with the same damn noises. Hence the auto - not to mention, my wife can drive it.

Best of luck with your manual issues.

Also, not that it matters... but Jeep is paying me back for installed aftermarket parts that cannot be moved to the 13 without possible damage and they are having the dealer move the rest of the stuff for me. They're also covering all document and registration fees... I'm also not paying full mileage depreciation on my vehicle.

I'm not going to lay all of the details of my replacement deal out for the world to see - but your assumptions are wrong.

I have an update, if I didn't say this yet I am a serious nube and not really a car guy but this forum has give me the knowledge to start doing a lot of my own maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations.

So the noise I describe in my original post started after having the jeep for a few months coincidentally after my first oil change, when I heard the noise the first thing I thought of was the engine cover and I reseated it a couple different times and still had the noise.

Really long story short I just completed my second oil change and now I can't get my jeep to make the sound no matter what I do. Honestly it purrs like a kitten almost.

Not sure what I did differently?

Any thoughts other than I don't know what I'm doing, cause I already considered that.
