Default Ready to order but..

So i'm almost ready to order my 2012 JKU but im wondering is it really worth ordering the max tow package. It's $270 extra (subtracing the $50 for the 3.73 which i'll be geting either way) to gain the hitch and TSC. I could purchase the hitch and do it myself for $80 with the wiring. Is the $190 extra worth paying for the TSC?

I've never had a jeep to tow with before so i'm not sure how well TSC really works out. Any info from people who have used it would be greatly appreciated.

Was the only option I passed on in 2011. Didn't think I'd be towing, and I am not but the hitch comes in handy just the same for mounting a dring, block or rocket launcher. If you are thinking about an aftermarket rear bumper / tire carrier then some have a built in hitch and some will allow you to reuse factory. Hitch might be a take-off depending on your plans. As to the control ...the less things trying to take over my braking system the better I'd say unless there are no mods in the future.

I decided to not order it on my jkur. It was $75 for a rugged ridge hitch and harness and took me 10 min to install.

I'm ordering my 2012 JKU Rubicon today from my cousin's dealership. He told me its cheaper to add yourself later, so that's what I am doing.

I could be wrong but I thought the trailer package included stiffer springs in the rear as well.

You get 3.73 gears (unless you know you are going to regear right away) and transmission cooler...which you would have to install aftermarket

Oh and x2 on the springs.

Plus think about it this way...what's $4.50 added to your monthly payment-if that-or unless you are paying in full.

Then they do the labor for you, warranty, ect. You could better spend your time doing custom mods.

If you look at the 2 post in this link it appears the tow package uses different springs. That may or may not matter to you.
