Default Rear brake pad OEM material?

Does anyone know for sure if the rear OEM brake pads are semi-metallic or ceramic?

I need to replace my rear brake pads, but I'm not going to replace the rotors. In this case, I figured I should stick with the same type of brake pad material.

Thanks!

I believe they are ceramic. I just replaced both front and back with ceramic and they work great.

I was told from the dealership that the rear's were semi-metallic and the front's were ceramic. I went with there recommendation but ordered mine online and replaced myself.

Yeah, I keep reading that the rears are ceramic, but then some people say they are semi-metallic...so I'm not sure.

I was hoping someone bought them and could tell what material they were.

I know the Mopar Part # is 68003776AA, but searching that doesn't help because the Mopar parts sites don't have any product details that would tell the material.

Im not sure what they are. I know that I am now running ceramics front and rear and they work great. The rears do wear out twice as fast as the front. If they are semi metallic then I would think that the ceramics would last longer. I went ceramic all around and am happy. I would think that you could put different combinations and see what you like. I would stay away from cheap pads though. I believe that if you are going to put the pads on yourself you will save money and will be able to get better pads and parts.

Let us know how it goes.

This makes sense with what Napa offers as "OE" replacement pads. Ceramic front, semi-metallic rear. They don't even offer a ceramic rear pad.

Would it be bad to use a different material pad on the same rotor?

You can change the material for the rear pad but just be sure that the rotor is clean and that you break in the pads well. I have only had the pads on for about 4 days. I will let you all know further down the road. But I am pleased for now.

But please don't take my word as gospel I am just trying out things for myself.

The OE fronts are Cedramic, the OE rears are semi-Met.
