Rear d44 diff fluid

I replaced a rear axle seal and changed the diff fluid and I know it calls for 4.75 quarts of oil but I barely got 3 quarts in. I drove it about 100 miles and I still can't get any more fluid in the diff. Thoughts?

Pints not quarts!!

Rear Differential Capacity:
4.75 pints (2.375 quarts)

If you have a stock cover on the differential, and the Jeep is on level ground, filling to the fill hole automatically makes it the correct amount of oil.
