I live in Ontario and a couple years ago the dealer quoted me a little over $400 to do both diff.

Was a quick way to get me to do it on my own.

Using non synthetic oils in the diff, transfer case, transmission (manual) oil should be changed at every 15000 miles......right ? That's the interval I've been doing it.

Yes. They usually don't even pull the covers to have a look.

TJM12 hit it on the head. I found it is a LOT more convenient and less expensive to modify the dif cover to accommodate a drain plug. The pic shown is of a heavy duty Body Armor Dif cover for a D30 I had modified and powder coated RED. However, I traded my JKU with the D30 and never installed the cover. Willing to sell for $130 if interested.

Default Diff Oil

I changed mine after 10,00 mile and it sure looked like it needed to be changed. At the time I also changed my Rear diff cover with a Duratrak rear diff cover. Make sure and spend a little extra money for thee gasket if you are removing the cover. I don't recommend using RTV, I did and I had to do the change twice. I used Lucas synthetic gear oil.

I assume since it is a rubi it has Dana 45 front & rear. They will take about two quarts each. Can't go wrong with any approved diff oil. If you tow you should use synthetic and a heavier weight in the rear. All else fails check your owners manual.
