I ordered a set of rear driver/passenger-side door surrounds, in order to install the smittybilt cargo net. My JKU was purchased as a hardtop only. Do I have to re-install these surrounds whenever I go cargo net? Or can they be left on, while the hardtop is being used?

 

they have to be removed to install the hardtop.

 

I can't seem to fit the smittybilt cargo net into the top-horizontal channel of the door surround. Is there a specific type of door surround I should be looking for? or are they the all the same?

The plastic insert attached to the net is longer then the channel on the top. and If i use the channel on the bottom, the cargo net won't reach the other side! Am I missing anything?

I've been looking at the smittybilt cargo net for my 08 JKU hardtop as well. I know you need to get the tailgate retaining bar and brackets ( another 50 bucks) as well. I don't want to buy the net and brackets and find out im still missing something

 

You also need the following....

rear driver and passenger door surrounds side


2x long 2x short door surround knob (long knob shown)


These parts are all sold separately, but are all necessary for the cargo net to work. I'm putting together a walk thru, and should be posting it by tomorrow.
