Looks more like a bent wheel to me. Given the condition of the roads in Michigan the last time I was there, it's a definite possibility. Like the other guys said, take the wheel and tire off and try the test again. If the axle flange is bent you will see it. If it spins true then have a closer look at the wheel. Good luck.

I'll be doing that next, hopefully in the next evening or two. Hope to determine if its the axle or not soon so I can get the parts ordered and start driving it again

soooo sorry to tell you this.

i had the same thing. axle was bent. not just the shaft... housing and all. and the spling was twisted, so the shaft could't be removed.
i was lucky enough to get it covered under warranty. 1400cnd.

heres my disclaimer to all ye nay sayers. i'm not ruff on my jeep, and hardly wheel it. jeep was stock when it happened. these axles are complete garbage, and will break before susp. components and probably even spacers.

Thought I would update this story. Last Friday a friend helped me to do the rear brakes. They where due anyway but no change, he thought maybe a warped rotor but I am still feeling something off. I am bringing her in to a supposedly good shop that specializes in suspension this afternoon to get checked out. PITA all this time but oh well I've learned a little and better to not throw money at something until I'm sure.

Another and maybe final update. The shop yesterday told me they can't find a bend in the shaft. What they did find was the toe just a little off so they corrected that and did an alignment. The other thing they said was there was wear on the tires that may be causing a *little* bit of what I am feeling but no need to replace the tires right now. I noticed the difference immediately on the drive home I don't feel the slight weave I was feeling before. So I'm hoping this $60 fix is the solution as apposed to the almost $1000 the dealership wanted to put in a new right side shaft and do the rear brakes.

Side note and on to the next issue which is common on the forum...disappearing oil!
