Default Rear Head Rest

I was reading another thread that someone was complaining about the rear head rest blocking a good portion of the rear view mirror.

Someone removed it and another person said they just were going to deal with it.

I looked at it while I was tracing my seatbelt noise issue and just thought " Why not just have them bend back.

So while I was at Lowes- I bought a set adjustable bungee cords $3.69 and put the seats down so the head rest flops back. Bungeed the head rest to the child seat lock bar, and now they are out of the way.

Plus with it bungeed, you can rasie them anytime you want. Just lift the head rest up. The Bungee will just expand a little more.

So for less than $4 you can see a little more.

Now that is a beautifully simple yet functional mod. Thanks.

That's American ingenuity at its best - almost as good as taking a power drill to your mirrors!

Anyone know if the rear seat headrest in the 2-dr folds down the same way?

I don't think so .. but take my advice on this with a copious amount of salt as I pulled the rear head rests off the 2nd day I owned my JK and didn’t look that closely while doing it.

The 2-dr rear head rests can just be pulled right out.

This thread inspired me to just pull out my 2dr's backseat altogether... loving the newfound space and visibility! Thanks for the motivation OP.
