Rear locker not working
Anyone have any ideas here.
This weekend I was at Rausch Creek with about 15 other JK's. The rear locked fine on our first trail when I took the optional rock garden. After that I couldn't get it to engage. The front will lock up no problem. When I hit the locker button, half the time the light will flash, the other half it stays solid. But as soon as I apply any resistance the light will start flashing again. If I make the slightest turn with it on. I get a loud clicking sound that can be heard from two three jeeps away.
With the locker off the jeep will run just fine. No indication of any problem. I'm still running with a stock suspension and tires. I have added Solid diff covers. But other than that, no other drive line modifications. Yes, I checked the oil level is fine.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue.
Rear locker is pooched and it looks like the dealership has my rubi for 3 to 5 days.
I would go to engage the rear locker and it would just blink and blink and blink and blink, but if I went in reverse it would go solid for a second and then blink and blink and blink....
Tomorrow I should have more information on their findings.
So now I'm rolling in a loaner Dodge Caliber...yucchhhhh!

Actually it DIDNT come with regular warranty.
I purchased an extended warranty (thank god) that covered the first 5 days. Chrysler is covering the additional days because the part...get this. Was received DAMAGED TWICE!! The third time it wasn't received damaged and they are now installing it and hopefully will have it done tomorrow.
Tomorrow will be day 10 with the rubi sitting at the dealership. I was going to post this in the original thread WOL created way back because I had a question.
What parts were replaced when the rear locker broke? Because it sounds like it's pretty substantial but my question is what could of been broken during shipping of said replacement part.....TWICE. When I think electronic locker I think of a metal finger that locks the rear end, what could break during shipping?
Thank god the third replacement part for the rear end has been overnighted and it *should* be all set. I'm hoping I have the same experience as everyone else on this board that had this issue corrected where it doesn't return because my god..10 days!! That and I'm sitting on a lift waiting to go in, sliders, and a bumper is on the way.
I'm hoping for a pretty informative service slip on what they did so if it does happen again and when I have my 2.5 BB installed it won't be the instant reason as to why my locker hosed.
Anyone have a similar experience with the rear locker being repaired? What was actually replaced?
Other then waiting 10 days to have my rubi back I will say this dealership has cooperated as best they could and has been super in the past about providing top service! So this is why I'm in such disbelief this could happen so many times in a row haha.

Got my Jeep back!! Wooooohooo! Man it's nice to be back!
Rear Locker works! The "Tru Lock Assy" was the culprit.
I hope I never have to go through that again. But I do feel fortunate my service department took care of me even though the part continued to show up damaged.
Notes on the service are..
"Customer States Locker not locking and rear locker flashing.
Scanned code, C123C. Found Interm. Clear codes and test drove. Tested Diff Locker system. Found that rear diff accutator solenoid not working, circuit ok. Pulled rear diff. and cleaned. Removed and replaced Tru Lock ASSY. Reassembled and test drove ok."

That's almost funny. I got mine back today too. The dealer said it was the actuator that went bad in mine. I'm assuming we are talking about the same part. I'm shocked even with Solid dif. covers they still covered it and with out question. I was expecting them to give me grief over that and try to deny it as a warranty clam. I have had up hill battles over stupider modifications at other dealers. I guess it’s all in where you go and the mood if the service manager.
