What about underneath the base? Cloth headrests with vinyl/leather covers tell me something is not factory.

it’s not cloth headrests. That’s just the neoprene headrest cover for the neoprene seat cover that was removed

I didn't realize that was a change made in 2013. I pulled an owners manual for a 2012 and the manual shows a strap liek Sixty4x4 showed above on his. I wonder if those are aftermarket seat skins and maybe the strap is hiding underneath. That is very strange.

You can download the manual here and see on page 147 what it's showing -
https://ownersmanuals2.com/jeep/wran...s-manual-51855

This is kinda a strange one.

You can also see on this listing for a 2012 that the strap is there on the back seat. I'm leaning to that seat skin not being factory original and there wasn't a slit cut to accommodate the strap.

I’ll have to check that out. Could be aftermarket seat skins. I never even thought about it, the Jeep is a sport, did some sport trims come with leather seats? If not, most likely are some kind of aftermarket seat covering.

I'm not 100% sure, but I am pretty certain no sports came with leather. I'd bet that little strap is hiding below that skin. Kinda hard to think if someone did add leather that they never folded those seats down.

There’s no telling...I’m still wondering why they would add leather just to cover them with neoprene seat covers...

well, there's possibility different owners, but I will tell you that I have a 2013 sport with clothe seats. I added Katzkins leather which was best thing I did, and now I have Bartact seat covers over that leather. Why? Cuz 5 years of my ass sliding off the driver's seat really started to wear the seam on the bolster and was starting to rip. I spotted a killer deal on some Bartact covers locally and just threw em on. So, random things do happen. I can't explain it

At some point I might explore if there is any way to order a single charcoal driver's seat from Katzskin but I don't think they do singles.

You might be able to get an upholsterer to get a scalpel in there. And then sew the covers up to either side of the loops if they exist.

Think if he can get a couple fingers up under that skin he'd be able to reach far enough to feel a loop there or not? I mean, has to be there I think.

Found the straps. There’s a real small slit in the seat skins that the straps were supposed to be fed through.
