Default Rear seat stuck

2008 2Dr and the rear seat will not release. any ideas? I'd rather not take the seat apart unless it's inevitable.

the release pulls, there is tension on the cable and I can hear something that sounds like it should be working. that's where it stops. the back will not fold forward more than 1 inch and the bottom will not release to flip forward either.

I'm guessing I'm going to have to take the seat apart, but I was hoping for that little known trick or tip that I typically find on here.

I know it is obvious but check to make sure nothing is under the seat. The smallest thing will make it feel like it won't budge. I know I Know you probably already did this.
