Rear Spring Rate

This topic perhaps has been beat to death, but here is the question:
Is is safe to assume that increasing the number of the rear spring, the rate is also increased?
Looking for a little more cargo weight capacity from my current 56AA to perhaps a 59AA.
Not interested in a lift spring.
