Default Rear Turn Sig Problems

I've got an 08 2dr and having rear trun sig problems. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I checked the bulb and was good, even replaced it just in case. Checked for lose wires and dirty contacts in the plug. All was good. A Mech. friend looked at it when it wasn't working and checked online and said that it sounds like the computer wasn't sending a sig to the light/plug. I checked for codes based on the method described in the Project-JK forum and no codes came up. It's only the pass side rear turn sig. The pass side front flashes fast. Even tried to play/wiggle the turn lever. . . no deal. Any ideas???

reach up inside the 1/4 panel extension and wiggle the harness to try to duplicate the problem. Sure sounds like the circuit has a broken wire or a loose connection in the harness. Double check the plug.

Mine was a loose bulb connector in the harness. Off road activities worked the bulb holder a lit bit I guess.

Bent the clips out a bit to contact the bulb a little better. If it happens again, I'll replace that pigtail.

I just had an intermittent left rear turn signal problem. If I hit the light assembly the lamp would work normally, then stop again. The signal would fast flash. I bought 2 bulbs and replaced both, figuring the other would eventually fail. I broke the left socket locking clip but the lamp still seems secure. All has been ok since. When you take off the lens assembly, try tapping different areas around the bulb, socket plug until you see the problem. DONT rule out a new but bad bulb. Good Luck

Well, still having the same probs. I did change out the bulbs (3 different ones, all new lol) The running lights always work. The brake/turn lights are the prob. There is no fire on either side of the plug when its not working. When it is working, all is normal. Tonight, It was working and when I shut the tail gate, the jarring made it go out. I wiggled every wire that I could find between both rear lights and could not get it to come back on. I just hate to take it to the dealer and play the $100 diagnostic fee plus what ever the fix would cost. Sounds simple, just can't seem to find it.

Try swapping the passenger and drivers side harnesses. If the problem follows, then you know what you need.

@ Menard666. . . Dude, I did what you said and both sides work like they should. I even wiggled the wires on both sides and slammed the tail gate several times to try and make it go out. IT's ALL STILL WORKING!!! I will drive it for a few days and see it the prob comes back. Will post the results. Thanx again bro. Am thinking you just saved me over $100 easy, lol.
