I was told vaseline on the seals helps? Haven't tried it yet though.

Other than that great vehicle!

Vaseline is a petroleum product that dissolves rubber. Never use it on seals.

Your local motorfactors should have a suitable product.

Mine was built in 02/08 and purchased a month ago. No problems at all but I can't comment on the leak. The top came off the moment I got it home and hasn't been back on since.

I have had my 04/08 built JK for almost two weeks. Only have about 450 miles on it. No problems so far. It's even sat outside in a couple pretty heavy rain storms with no leaks.

I must say I'm really happy with it and it is fun to drive!

I had a 07 soft top & 6 speed. I upgraded to an 08 w/ freedom top, auto, air. I had a few small drips on the center dash, that is it. There are some tsb's out on the 08, and a few recalls. My oil change light did come on at 2500, I am not sure if normal, there is a tsb out on it.

Check and make sure the threaded knobs over the front seats are not overtightened. They should be tighted up just past the point of loose.
I've also heard that vaseline is hard on the rubber seals and not recommended.

i've got about 3500 miles on mine, with plenty of rain along the way.

my only issues have been with mygig:

-crackled and popped a few times, but not in awhile.
-did the whole "no sound" thing a couple times. wiggling the fuse under the hood corrected the problem.

i consider those VERY minor issues. everything else has been great!
