Question for the hive mind: My JKU has this warning label in the engine bay. I was not told it had remote start when I purchased it, nor did I get a key fob with the remote start button. How do I tell if it's actually equipped with remote start? I tried the "push the lock button on the key fob three times" thing with no result.
So how would I go about finding out?
A good place to start would be your owner's manual. There are several pages that explains the remote start system. I don't know what year you have, or if there are differences between years, but the 2017 manual (I picked at random) states you need to have a key fob programmed for it.
I doubt the sticker was placed there by the previous owner as a joke, so therefore I would assume you really do have it. Next stop: Your Dealer.
You can plug your VIN into Manroney to get the window sticker. It will have all of the options. You also get your build sheet. Just search online for instructions.
I added an aftermarket remote start system to my daughter's Renegade. It came with a warning label like yours. The factory system does not include that label, having a switch under the hood that disables the remote start when the hood is lifted. It did take some practice to get the right timing for the three presses on the lock button. There would be a module wired in series with the start switch.
