Remote Starter
They make one. Its a factory kit from Mopar that comes with I believe 2 keys. I would imagine you have to have the power windows and locks. Also if you have a manual you will have to go after market. Check ebay, quadratec and your local dealership. If you can get a part number, you can google it to find out who sells it. Try searching on this forum as I'm sure someone has installed one and could probably help you out.
Thanks. here's my story. I bought the jeep from a ford dealer. Later I noticed there was a sticker under the hood that warns about a remote starter. I called the dealer and they said they deactivated it due to it was setting off the alarm. That's all they knew. I have no idea where these mount or if they removed it all together.
the factory remote starter will have an extra button on your jeep's key.. to have the factory one, your jeep must be automatic and have the factory power package, as well as be 2008 or newer...
I installed the jeep factory kit myself, but it did not come with any labels to put under the hood... and in fact there is a hood pin switch located just above the driver side headlight so that remote start cannot be activated if the hood is open...
all of the factory kits or installs will have this pin..
my guess is that the ford dealer deactivated it because it was an aftermarket kit and the previous owner never turned in the fobs for it... so they just say it doesnt work rather than spend money to replace the fobs.....

Alright , now that helps. A good friend of mine ( a former Chrysler Tech) installed one for me in my 2006 pt cruiser. the installation includes taking the bottom dash, steering column off. The main module is mounted under the dash. there is a ribbon type cable that mounts to the key cylinder.( this is to transmit the signal same as the key would to start the car).
If you look under the hood there is an ALARM TYPE PIN SWITCH. If the hood opens while started , it will shut off the remote start. There is also a wire that connects to the marker lights, to turn lights on when started remotely.
You can follow these wires to the main module. Hopefully the module is still there.Maybe the fuse was removed. You may only need a remote. If you find the unit pm me, I have the installation instruction for the pt crusier, it should be the same as the wrangler. the remotes needs to be programmed and include the two original keys. When programming, all the keys and the starter will have the same transponder code.
