Default removing the carpet

anyone try to remove the carpet? In the brochure it shows someone washing the interior with a hose. Am I missing something? Besides ripping out the seat first, how easy will it be to remove the carpet? I looked and it seems to be an adventure just trying to remove it. Tell me SOMEBODY MUST HAVE TRIED ...No?

I want to remove the "frills" before hitting the bog. Right now we have salt and snow but I dream of how many different ways I can get stuck..real stuck

It's going to make it alot louder going down the road... I dont plan on removing mine until its not a DD,

I have read its hard to reinstall, I guess its easier to take out then to put in.

What Piginajeep said. I have not done it completely but I did feel around to see what all would be needed to do and pulling it should be the easy part. Also, on top of being louder inside the cab of your Jeep, you may find that it'll be hotter too. A lot of times, heat pads are bonded to the bottom of the carpeting.

Im gonna have to remove mine tomorrow. I drove 200 mi. away from my place without the doors or windows because the weather man said sunshine all weekend. Well it turned out the exact opposite. Now i have about 2 inches of standing water in my jk. We'll see how this carpet thing goes.

Make sure you take lots of pics! I've been really curious about this myself (I'd like to see a drain plug opened up, etc.) but too chicken to go yank all of my carpets myself...

If you have/had standing water you need to pull the plugs out. I haven't tried to locate mine in the JK yet, but I always left them out in my TJ. In South FL, if you pull them out so the water can drain, all you have to do is wait for a nice sunny day. No need to pull the carpet out.
