Default removing hard top - nuts remain in place?

So I removed my hard top for the first time. Boy was that easy with 2 people!

Question is, I see no mention of how to remove those nuts/brackets along the rear sides that the torx screws go in to. But I need at least the forward ones out to use the velcro strap for the soft top on the Unlimited. How do they come out?

Anyone know what the heck I'm talking about? It's not in the OM.

TIA.

On mine I could slide them back or forward just enough to get out of the way to feed the velcro straps through.

Been running mine for two years and never worried about the velcro. I have done 75 and 80 on the interstate with no problems. If you have the top folded down neat it will stay where you put it. The bars stick up but they are not in the way.

Thanks fellas. Yes, the right rear (passenger side) nut fell off as I was playing with it (oh my, does that sound painful!). It seemed to need to slide back to release from the channel it was in. But none of the others would do that! So I put the screws back in to make sure I wouldn't lose any more nuts, and to keep dirt out of the threads. But was wondering about that velcro scrap.

I'll keep playing with my nuts to see if I can get them to move where I want them. hehehe

Slide them left to right and push them in towards the outside of the vehicle until they pop out. Just removed all 6 of my nuts last night Ouch !
