Default Removing the jack

Has anyone tried to take the jack out of it's mounting location yet? My tire tool is on loan so I just tried removing the jack to get to the lug wrench and it seems next to impossible. The manual doesn't offer any help. Any suggestions?

Mine came out easily (you do need to lower it a bit, it is raised to hold it in place) where is yours sticking?

I can move it about 1/4" in it's housing. I've tried pushing down, pulling up and side to side to get it out with no luck.

Got it!....just pulled it up with a little elbow grease then back and down and it came right out. Figured it would right after I posted a dumb question.

There is a black (wingnut looking thing) on the end of the threaded bolt. You need to loosen that a few turns and it brings down the foot that is pressed up against the top (or underside of the cargo area) depending on how you look at it. Then it slips right out. It took me a few minutes to figure it out and there was nothing in the book about it....

I just did it this weekend, it was really tight and took me a while before I could lower it at all. Once I finally got it to start I lowered it and it slid right out.

I didn't think it was a dumb question... and if you thought it I'm sure 10 other people came across the same situation but never asked... you had the conhones to ask. And if you asked and somehow it suddenly happened then consider it part of the process of how to resolved the question.

MAYBE THE MAGIC "JEEP FAIRY" SAW YOUR QUESTION AND CAME TO YOUR RESCUE!!!

I had the same problem when I took mine out. It was in there extremely tight, and the manual doesn't say a thing about it.

Its a machanical aptitude test developed by Jeep engingeers. The bad news is you failed. The good news is we have each other to fall back one when stuff like this happens.
