Stock JK TechBulletin board forum regarding issues with OE (original equipment) components of the Jeep JK Wrangler (Rubicon, Sahara, Unlimited and X) such as factory suspension parts, engine, transmission, body parts, interior fixtures and the on-board computer.
I have a 2012 JKUR, I have for a while gotten the p0058 code off and on (heater control sensor). I have replaced the appropriate sensor 3 times and had to repair a wire on the engine side of the connector.
The broken wire was very close to the connector so I cannot say it was a optimum repair. For about a year it worked no issue and then I started having the CEL + code come back. It would be there for a while and then go away. Just based off behavior I believe it is a ground issue, I have tried additional battery grounds as well as checking grounding points, etc.
There is not enough wire after the connector to try and splice it in again so I am thinking it is best to just replace the whole harness. Problem is I can't find any threads or videos on doing this and it looks like a lot of stuff would need to come out of the engine bay to get to it.
Had anyone changed out the engine wiring harness? How difficult? Any threads or videos on it? Other ideas? Thanks
LastIy would be searching salvage businesses and even if a purchase of the wiring harness it might be easier to just cut out the needed connector with extra wiring. There are companies selling replacement connectors too; I didn't search this.
I am hoping someone can help and provide a suggestion. I am looking for a 2007 Jeep JK manual transmission Wire Harness. A few months ago the Jeep broke down and after replacing to a red top Optima battery and adding a switch panel to have all the accessories separated from battery and afterwards it rig keeps frying up the coil #3 which is taking out the 3rd cylinder. After three months of trial and error the mechanic suggested to replace engine wire harness.
I have located automatic wire harnesses and 2008 manual transmissions but local Jeep dealer said they wont work. Therefore I am looking for any suggestion or locating a 2007 Jeep JK that we can pull the part? Thanks in advance.

Welcome Tarazona to the JKF. Your best option is SALVAGE YARDS.. Visit one locally and ask about yards that focus on Jeeps; they are out there.. many repair shops also use LKQ for Used parts and collision repair parts. Hope you're sitting down when they hit you with the price.
