So what kind of mileage are you guys getting outta the stock pads? Im assuming the larger the tires the less miles to expect but it seems fairly soon for some JK's to need pads.

At 18000 miles I replaced my rears. They were over halfway worn. The fronts were still almost like new. My theory is 3 things contribute to the rears wearing out faster- they are half the size of the fronts, traction control, and both of these put together with any mud ,sand, dirt wheeling will contribute to then wearing out faster. Check your owners manuel under maintenece schedule, inspect every 12000 miles, there's a reason for it. Depending on your driving terrain I would expect replacing them between 12 and 24, the rears anyway.

Mine are still perfectly fine at 15K. When the time comes I already have my mind made up to have Baer (SP) drilled and slotted rotors and thier top end pads installed on all 4's. It's a bit pricey "up front" but I believe it will even out in the long run. Take care...Mike
