Replacement key fobs
I have 2 key fobs for my 2009. The one that I use every day, the unlock button has worn out where I have to press it like 50 times before my door will unlock.
What's the cheapest/easiest path to get a replacement?

I have used ebay, find a seller with good feedback, never had a problem. Locksmith did not want to cut the key until I told him that he would not be responsible if it did not work. to me it was worth the risk as I could have bought at 5 replacements compared to the cost of one OEM key. You will need both of the old fobs to program the new one.

Here's what I'm currently considering. My 2009 has the remote start.

Also make sure it has compatible P/N, FCC ID etc and it says jeep on the back. The first key I bought from that other website did not have these numbers. The locksmith even told me this is a aftermarket key btw (first key). When I took the 2nd one he automatically told me ah you got a OEM one. Been working like a charm 4 weeks and counting.

I bought a couple of $3 no-button blank transponder keys and cut/programmed them just to have a few extras sitting around. (things have apparently changed and now locksmiths can program them with a special code or something, but way back when, it was stupid expensive to replace a lost key at the dealership when you didn't have two already-programmed keys...)

Then I got a couple of $9 3-button flip fobs to transfer the guts of the original keys into. (just the shells, but I'm sure you could find this type that has the internals if they interest you.)
