Have you replaced one of your door handles, particularly the rear? I need to replace one I've ripped off. I started to tackle one afternoon, removing the door skin, but stopped once trying to remover the plastic modular system housing the window/motor didn't come out easily. Maybe I just wasn't holding my mouth right. Maybe I should have rolled the window down first. Anyway, I reassembled.

Anyone have guidance to share?


Again, my immediate concern is the rear, but I would also like to know how to replace the front door handles also. I intend to machine some from stainless steel... already drawn up.

I suppose my real question is... How do you remove the plastic module which appears to house the glass and motor?

You might want to write Mel from Off Road Evolution. They sell replacement Aluminum door handles so I am sure he can tell you how to get them out.

 

has anyone figured this out. I'm trying to figure out how to remove the door handles on the passenger and driver side door without doing any damage. tailgate was pretty simple and want to start the doors now.

It didn't say anything about removing the window wich I though you would have to do.

It wasn't much help. It had 2 steps it said remove "carrier plate", then remove door handle.
