Default Replacing head gasket myself

So I’m pretty sure my 2016 JK sport head gasket went toast after doing some things suggested by other members in my previous post. So I’m gonna try to tackle it myself. I’m pretty knowledgeable with vehicles. Is there any tips suggestions, things to also change while I’m in there with everything torn apart. What should I look for to find out if my cylinder head itself needs repaired or replaced? Also in other posts I see a lot of people talking about getting their whole engines replaced after it overheating and head gasket failure. I’d rather not replace a whole ass engine if possible as it only has 60k miles on it. But any suggestions and tips to look out for would be immensely appreciated
