Check out the Edelbrock IAS. Great shock about 80 each at Quadratec. Have em and my Jeep does not sway anymore.

The only choices I would consider would be either OME or Bilstein

A set off a Rubi for much cheaper. Just got all 4 for $40... You can buy them all day on CL and EBay....

I wouldn't say that..

Just cause they are the most popular does not mean they are the only game on the market that are good.

The Bilstein 5100s are great but they only make them for lifted. The blue and yellow Bilsteins I had on my stock Jeep sucked. They were harsh as hell.

Every review I read about the Edelbrock IAS was good so I gave them a shot and they are great, firm but not too firm. I have been running em two years and no leaks. The fit and finish on them is great as well.

Two years of salty winter and no rust on em!

I know skyjacker shocks are not liked on here nor are they the best. But if you are on any kind of budget the skyjacker nitro shocks are what I am running and I love them so far. I have only had them on for about 2 months but did some good wheeling last month and they did great. Like I said not the best but great for the money and way better than stock for sure.

How are the Bilsteins (or OMEs, or Edelbrocks) in terms of sag when the vehicle is loaded with equipment? Better than stock?

Suspension sag is dictated by the springs. The shocks dampen the movement of the suspension. In other words, the springs hold up your jeep, and the shocks keep it from bouncing around. That said, I love my OME shocks. Waaaaaay smoother ride than stock on the street and very controlled on the trail. The bilsteins are a stiffer ride.
