Default Retail Value of Stock Bumper??

Well, a nice ole lady ran a red light the other day, and the rear quarter panel and bumper of her mini-van were introduced to my factory bumper. I'm wondering how much a new factory bumper will cost. Since her insurance company will be cuttiing me a check as soon as the adjuster does the inspeciton today, I'm wondering what kind of price range I should be looking at for my new aftermarket bumper.

THanks for the help

People usually sell them cheaper than that on here, if I am not mistaken.

Poor..... Stock bumpers getting the diss again

I would look at putting the money into an aftermarket one with a winch if the insurance company is cutting a cheque for you.

That's exactly what my plan is, I'm just trying to figure out what my price range will be.

THanks

I think your best bet would be to call your dealer and have them print up a quote to give to the adjuster. I would not tell them some folks have a hard time giving them away!

Same thing happened to my wife's 2007 and it cost me $220.00 from the dealer to replace the rear bumper about 8 months ago. the only thing metal on the bumper is the 4 brass inserts for the bolts that connect to the frame.

People give them away in the freebie section all the time.

That would be great, but I'm also in need of a new grill assembly, headlight, possibly a radiator, a fender, as well as the bumper. The insurance will be covering all these costs but since the bumper needs to be replaced I'm going with an aftermarket rather than another "useless" OEM. No additional costs incurred

If I was him, I would be doing the same thing!
I agree, I see no ethical problem with this. He was hit, he has the inconvenience of having to fix the problem, so what if he puts the cost of a replacement towards something better!

It seems ridiculous to say a hollow piece of plastic costs the same amount as a Shrockworks, LOD, or Smittybilt bumper...

Also makes me sort of regret cutting the ends off my front bumper. Now no one can bump me.
