The whole mirror assembly will actually come off with the two bolts that are on the inside of the door. Its real easy, just a Torx Head bit. I don't have my jeep here now so I cant tell ya what size, but when I get it back Ill try and let ya know if someone else hasn't already!

Good luck with it!

I don't recall the size either, but I just took both mine off to drill the oft-discussed drain holes. Takes 5 minutes (if that), but does require a torx bit. You'll see the two bolts up near where the door meets the dash when the door is shut. Make sure you have your hand on it through the window, but I guess since it's broken it doesn't matter!

The mirror it self can also come off. If you can get your fingers (2 or3) between the part part of the glass and the plastic protector and lightly pull twards you the top part will unclip then fold it down to about a 75 degree angle then pull the bottom up. you might have to rotate the mirror up and down to find the exact angle.

You can buy the replacement glass for only $44 at your local dealer. Don't ask me how I know.

Default mirror removal

I just took both my mirrors off yesterday........it's a size #30 torx that you're going to need to take the mirrors off. A word to the wise, if you're doing by yourself.....only fully remove one bolt and back out the other one only 1/2 way, hold the door open and reach in and remove the bolt by hand so you can catch the mirror.
