Right Turn Knocking?
I asked the service department if I could do the work myself. They told me as long as I save all my receipts and log it in my service log book it wouldn't void my warranty. I also called Chrysler main offices to see what they could do. They told me they would review the case and see if they could either cover the repair under warranty or reduce the price. Fingers crossed. I got 2 kids and one on the way, money's a little tight around the holidays.
what they are trying to do is recoup cost from the axle. SCREW THEM!!!!!!
IF its even true that water got into some how 3 components which is very very very unlikely, change the fluids urself. 1 qrt front, 2 qrt rear, at the most will cost $50 for the gear oil and thats for synthetic.
i would also ask them how they determined water was in both diffs, and transfer case and for them to SHOW YOU. if they will show you, then they need to take you to your jeep and psysicaly watch them take oil out, DO NOT let them bring an oil sample out to you, as they can just mix oil and water and say it came from your jeep. if they refuse to let you back into the shop, then let them change the axle under warranty and be done with them. you can check for water when you get home
you would have to have sunk those diffs in water to have that much water to be concerned with it. if its true that you only went through 1 or 2 inches of water, there can be that much water on the road and if the jeep cant handle normal rain water on the road, then that needs to be covered under waranty also

you are only about an hour and a half from me. id have no problem driving over and cheking your diffs and changing the fluid out for you if you needed some help. just let me know if you want or need some help.
I really appreciate the offer. But a guy from my unit here is going to help me out after we pick it up from the dealer on Monday. Thanks for all the info, also. I'm definately going to ask to see the oil.
I picked up my jeep. They said they could show it to me but I would have to wait until they got an empty bay. B.S. I had to hurry to pick up my kids, so I left. So I get it home takes me 30 minutes and 40 bucks to do their 570 dollar job. The big kicker is however, there is NO water in the fluid. I even poured it in a clear bucket to let it settle. NOTHING. I called the service manager and swears he looked at it and saw water. B.S. How do people like that live with themselves.

Yeah. I think I might look into some sort of complaint with Better Business, when I calm down a little. If nothing else I learned how easy it is to change the fluid in the diffs. I also realized how valuable this site and the knowledge of it's members are. Again, I appreciate all the info. thanks.
