Same with them. They have the same type metal ends that are subject to the same type temp issues. If you're experiencing what I think you are, it just looks like there is a little wetness between the hose and metal collar that's clamped over the rubber hose end, right? That's really considered a normal hydraulic condition. New hoses might stop it for a while, but it WILL happen again. And again, and again, and again.......

You are correct. Mine were leaking a little excessively. They were dripping fluid on the floor. (Is that normal?) I can understand a little wetness at the hose/ collar junction but mine was leaking onto the floor. I have never had an issue like this with any other vehicle.
incidentally, The high pressure hoses located on top of the radiator are completely dry.

Hey Redneck just a question. When the hoses are replaced is there allot of fluid loss? Will they have to top off?

The parts for my Jeep are finally in (Steering stabilizer shock, two lower transmission cooler hoses ). Just in time too. Both the transmission cooler hoses are pissing fluid pretty bad now. I hope it was just a defect from factory. Having to replace those hoses every year would be retarded.
Must be a problem though because it took 2 1/2 weeks to get them in (Back order). The service rep said they have been replacing lots under warranty.
I suggest you check them........Let me know your findings.

Mine goes in Monday for the same thing. I was changing the oil and I always look aorund when under there. And I noticed wetness between the hose and metal collar that's clamped over the rubber hose end. I will find out then if they have the part in stock or have to wait.

Didn't happen to me... but when I was getting my oil changed just before Christmas I was yapping with the service advisor and he was saying they were backed up and going nuts with people coming in without power-steering...

Basically, what he said was when it gets cold people were just jumping in their cars and taking off without giving the power steering fluid enough time to warm up. The cold fluid pops the lines off and then there ya go, no power-steering.

I dunno... cause that's pretty much what I do. Hop in and go. The only warm up time I give it is if I have to scrape the windows or wipe snow off them.

Yes. It can be considered normal hydraulic seepage. Look at any heavy equipment, such as backhoes and earthmovers. Same thing. They may or may not deem it necessary to warranty. I've seen it happen. I'm like you. I don't like it either. I never have. BUT....you need to remember the p/s system operates in the 3K PSI range. It's tough to keep anything from at least seeping with that kinda pressure. Course, trans pressures usually don't exceed 100 PSI. Usually. Now the race prepped A-904 I had in my Valiant was a whole nuther story. LOL

Just called the Dealer, and the Cooler Lines are in. They were suppose to call me as soon as they got them, but that didn't happen. I drop it off tomorrow to have them replaced under warranty.
