Default Rubi w/4.10: Tow package goes to 3.73?

Does adding the tow package on a 2010 Rubi (with default 4.10 gears) really bring the gears back down to 3.73, or is the "build your own" feature on the Jeep web site just misleading? (description of tow package says 3.73 gears). I assume this is just to say you get 3.73's instead of 3.21's but assuming is dangerous.

Rubicon gets 4.10, tow package or not.

Is this still true for 2011 Rubi's with Tow Package they come with the 4.10 gears? Or do they drop to the 3.73?

As previously stated, the Rubicon gets 4.10, tow package or not.

I just went to the Jeep site "build my own" feature and still see that when you build a Rubi and hover over the "tow package" info, it still says 3.73 gears. Jeep really needs to clarify this. I'm pretty certain that tow package doesn't REDUCE you from 4.10 to 3.73 on a Rubi, and that all Rubis come with 4.10 regardless of tow package or not. I'm going to send a note via "contact us" and tell them they really need to clarify this bug... I won't hold my breath! If you're placing an order and are really concerned about it, just make it clear on the contract (in writing) that you want tow package AND 4.10's and get dealer to sign/initial it and you'll have some leverage in the off chance you get a Rubi with tow and 3.73s. Which you probably won't.

Alternative: Order it without the tow package, and just buy a $69 receiver and a $27 plug-and-play wiring harness. You can install both in 15 mins, without any drilling, splicing or soldering.

This is the style of hitch receiver I put on my 2010 and then 2011, fits fine, only four bolts, no drilling, no removing any pieces of the jeep.

As for the wiring harness, this style takes a few minutes to install and requires no splicing/soldering/cutting. 100% undoable, leaving factory wiring in tact, leaves no chance of intermittent connections. Plug and play:

I ordered my 2010 rubi without tow package and added it myself, but either way I think it is correct what was posted, you still get 4.10 either way.

I ordered my 2011 Rubi with the tow package, and although the website is misleading, you WILL get 4.10's with a tow package.
