Default Rubicon Questions

How long does it take the electronic swaybar to disconnect and for the lockers to lock?

When I push the buttons, all the lights start to blink. The lockers stop blinking pretty fast but the swaybar never stops blinking. Also, when I wheel with the lockers engaged, the blink at times when I am spinning. Is something wrong? Thanks

you can hear both engage, but sometime you need to be rolling to have them work.

the swaybar light needs to stay on or its not disconnected. The locker light should stay lit as well

You do know that the Lockers only work in 4-lo ... and the sway bar only disconnects in 4-wheel drive right? Also .. the sway bar will re-lock and blink if going over 18 MPH ... If your sway bar light is ALWAYS blinking ... then it is defective.

"Hard" turning shouldn't be an issue because of the sway bar being disconnected. In 4-hi and 4-lo the jerk or lurching during turning is a result of U-joint bind in the front axles in combination with the front wheels pulling the back ones in an angled direction while they remain pointed in a singular direction, this causes the lurching. If you do the same thing on dry flat pavement you'll notice the rear tires hop a little and skid, it's the nature of 4wd. -Two tires in front pulling in an angled direction from the 2 tires pushing a different direction in back-

The lurching is completely normal and you shouldn't worry about it unless both axles are locked @ full turn in; Keep the throttle light.

If the turn in bind really bothers you, you can adjust your steering stops w/washers. This decreases your turning radius slightly, but you also won't be able to bind up as much while turning. How to>http://project-jk.com/jeep-jk-write-...top-adjustment

Don't ever make tight turns on dry pavement while in 4wd even with the axles unlocked.

Both lockers engage really quick on mine. The sway bar disengages pretty fast if the suspension isn't flexed too much. A steady light means it's working as intended - EXCEPT when disengaging. I've left the lockers engaged and switched to 2 wheel high. The light will blink but the lockers are still engaged. If you go fast enough they will eventually disengage, but on mine it's WAY faster than the 18 MPH as stated in the owner's manual. Same with the disco. I'll shift into 4-lo to engage the rear locker, then switch back to 2-hi. I'll have lockers as long as the light blinks - which can be all day if you don't go over about 30 MPH. I've had them stay engaged in 2-hi all the way to 60 MPH when there isn't much traction, link in the sand - makes a huge difference.
