I was having a similar issue in my old 04 Rubi, I know its not totally the same but after changing pretty much everything, I changed out the radiator cap and all was back to normal....give it a shot, they are pretty cheap and easy to replace....

If the fan never turns on and the temp gauge reads high at idle, something is probably wrong with the fan circuit.

If the fan blows luke warm air, and the upper hose is very hot while the lower is relatively cold, the coolant isn't circulating fast enough.

There's more possibilities, trying to get the basics of how yours is behaving.

Waldo_88, have you verified that the engine temp is actually high?

Not legitimately with a temp gun but I can tell by just opening the hood. It's wayyy hotter than normal
