Default Rust

Anyone having a problem with rust on the undercarage? My muffer is terrible, and the brackets holding the shock/struts are starting to rust. The frame itself looks pretty good, but some of the other parts of the undercariage are starting to rust. Is this something I should be concerned with????

These are normal places for a JK to rust. The mufflers are famous for rusting out. I bought my JK used and drove it home with a clean muffler. Removed the muffler and left it in the garage. 2 weeks later its all rusted up and the welds have pin hole leaks in them.

That's normal. The cast iron suspension pieces are not painted and get a slight surface rust, supposeably it is ok and protects against further rusting.

There are also many places on the interior that are made of pot metal that rust. on some jks they are painted on some they are not. on some one side is painted the other not... such as the seat brackets (front and rear) all metal in the dash (you can peak through the hole under the steering wheel.)

I live in Western NY and we have this company called Carwell that does rust prevention. I put it on a few weeks after I bought my JK new and there is very little rust under there. The muffler is still shiny so i I think it is working. The only rust I have is where I have scraped large raocks

My damn door hinges are starting to bubble up a little. The dealership says they can't do anything about it until the paint starts chipping away to expose it. Pretty frustrating for a 2 y/o vehicle.
