Default Rusting door hindges... :(

Beside the issue of the poor paint quality and missing paint around the door hidges along with other areas, I now have just noticed that my door hindges are "bubbling up" below the paint and it appears that rust is just about to pop through! My Jeep has around 8000 miles on it.
6 out of the 8 hindges on my Jeep all are showing the exact same problem... What the *#%@...???

What has the dealer said about it? Take it back and get it fixed, it's covered under warranty.

My dealer said, no problem. They will fix it. I am just kinda disappointed in the QC of Jeep to let this happen. Although where the paint is, it looks GREAT but the qaunity of paint is somewhat "lacking". My dealer has offered to paint the whole Jeep, but that would not be an option to me.

There is a TSB out regarding the paint on the sides of Jeeps. Guess some were mighty thin.

Sweet! If he offered to paint the whole thing, I would take him up on that ! A dealer paint job would have to be better than the factory paint. I would jump on that in a second.

I agree with Shaun wholeheartedly!!!!! If the dealer is gonna paint the whole Jeep you would be not to jump all over that !!! Tell them you want a loaner or they pay for the rental car also!!!!

Go for a complete paint job, it's not just the hinges that are horrible, the whole paint job is terrible. I used to work for large dealership and if we got a new car off the truck with the JK's paint quality (like the orange peel all over it) my dealer would not except it, he wouldn't let me sign for the car, so they would have to ship it back. he was mad picky, but he also had many repeat customers, just wish he sold Jeeps :(

Get the paint job. Sounds like you at least have a good dealership to work with.

My concern with the whole paint job thing is; 1. Can the dealer do a better job? 2. Will it "de-value" the Jeep overall? 3. What if it is worse?

I am headed out of the country Sunday for about (8) days and I am going to leave the Jeep with them to evaluate it and they will let me know what they recommend. I will keep everyone posted.

Good news is I don't think its rust...didn't jeep do something smart and make the hinges out aluminium (sp) so that they could ge away from the previous rusting hinges issues?

Please correct me if I am wrong.
