Default Seatbelt flapping?

With the top off and windows down, my seat belt flaps between the floor bolt and the shoulder pulley hitting the body of the Jeep and the side of the seat.

Yes, I'm wearing my seat belt when this happens. I can reach back with my hand, grab the belt, and the flapping and noise stops. It's just annoying to listen to.

Anybody have any quick fixes for this? Should I play around with the height of the shoulder pulley?

Thanks,
Glen

This is a common complaint. The fix is to pull the plastic away from the pillar a bit, and put on a velcro strap around the seat belt and the whole plastic piece, then clip the plastic back into place and viola! no more flapping. I know the search thing is time consuming to find what you're really looking for, but search for it... there should be pics and stuff.

I went the simper route of buying a seat belt shoulder pad at walmart. $4 for some nice black ones (filled with gel even thought that does not matter.) Place around the seat belt where the plastic is. Belt works like before and no flapping.

If your shoulder ever gets sore on a long trip you can always grab the pad and put it where it is supposed to go.

I used the velcro option as well.

I simply slid the belt between the handle for the recline and the seat, more arround the handle I guess. Stopped the flapping and $0.00! works perfectly, even on the wife side. !!!!! Put this right alomg with teh drilled side mirrors for best bang for buck modification!

Using the recline handle will work to stop the flapping... but this is probably not a good idea in the event of an accident. The extra length pulled out to go around the handle would allow you to go much farther forward and impact something. Yes it doesn't matter unless you have an accident but when was the last time someone here planned to have an accident. Lost my sister over a seatbelt so I'm probably more on the safety factor than some. She left her daughter to raise so the impact after the accident can also change many other lives besides yours. Just something to think about.

I used the $4.00 walmart seatbelt pad along the pillar and no issues. Everything works as it was designed. Money well spent.

Thanks for the help everybody. It was late and I forgot to search first, ask later.

And TrAvElAr, I've been meaning to say this for a while, your signature is too funny.
